We visited our close collaborative partners at Akuart in Copenhagen’s thriving Nordhavn district. We discussed where and how to incorporate acoustic products within the home and office, and what makes Akuart’s Imagine collection in collaboration with Paper Collective the perfect mix of function and beauty.

Hi Giulia. Can you start by telling me a little bit about Akuart; what you do, where you are based and your team?

Giulia:
Akuart is an acoustic design company, situated in Copenhagen's Nordhavn district, that blends superior acoustics with contemporary design. Our mission is to create effective acoustic solutions that visually elevate any space, prioritising longevity and environmental consciousness in production. Akuart caters to various environments such as commercial, educational, hospitality, and healthcare spaces. The dynamic team comprises former musicians, graphic designers, acoustic engineers, and creative minds dedicated to challenging industry norms.

Can you tell me about the new and improved Akuart Imagine collection and its benefits within the home and office environments?

Giulia:
Imagine offers a curated collection of sound-absorbing art and photography in collaboration with Paper Collective, ideal for transforming home and office environments into sonically well-balanced sanctuaries. Crafted with versatility in mind, the collection features artworks sourced from talented artists and visionary photographers. It comes in various sizes, and later this year, Akuart is introducing two new frame designs in exquisite oak and Oregon pine for a touch of sophistication.

What are some important pointers for customers when using the Akuart Imagine x Paper Collective products in the home or office space?

Giulia:
Consider placement carefully: Identify areas in your home or office where noise is a concern or where you desire a calm atmosphere. For example, in offices, placing artwork near workstations or meeting areas can reduce background noise. Within your own office environment, can you tell me a little about how you have used the Akuart Imagine x Paper Collective acoustic products to accentuate the design of your spaces - whether as a compliment or as a feature artwork?

Giulia:
Within our office, we've integrated Akuart Imagine x Paper Collective acoustic products to improve aesthetics and functionality. Throughout the showroom, you'll find various pieces strategically placed to address acoustic needs and enhance design. For example, in larger spaces like meeting rooms and workstations, we've used medium-sized panels to reduce noise and add vibrant colours, fostering a productive atmosphere.

In the canteen area, where team members gather for meals and breaks, we've installed a selection of panels to lessen noise during busy times, improving the dining experience. These pieces also contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, promoting relaxation and social interaction. Aside from their acoustic benefits, the artworks serve as focal points and conversation starters, reflecting our commitment to creative and functional design. Our favourite artworks at the Akuart Head Office are displayed in the canteen. They create a peaceful atmosphere during lunch, absorbing noise and promoting relaxation. Their medium size and oak frames form a cohesive and visually pleasing gallery that complements the room's decor. This consistency adds harmony and sophistication, improving the dining experience. The artworks enhance our lunchtime, fostering community and offering a moment of calm in a busy day. They turn the canteen into a tranquil gallery, a favourite spot to unwind and recharge.
