Adee Ardon is an artist and illustrator based in Tel Aviv, Israel. With her main medium being oil pastels, she places emphasis on colour and a context of place, taking inspiration from everyday life and capturing it in a unique and dreamy ways. Her naive style and bold color choices augment the reality we all see, making the spectators look at a specific - supposedly mundane - moment in time, and have them see the world through her eyes.

Alfredo Häberli (b.1964) is an internationally renowned Swiss Argentinian product designer, based in Zurich, Switzerland. Häberli collaborates with some of the leading companies in design including BMW, Vitra, Moroso, Luceplan, Kvadrat, George Jensen and Iitala. His work and designs have been shown in numerous exhibitions throughout Europe and he has received many awards during his extensive career.

Her aim is to help them become responsible and caring adults who can have a positive influence on the world around them.

Born in Los Angeles, Anthony Acosta has spent the better part of this century combining his love of photography and skateboarding. Skating since the early 90’s, he discovered photography in 2004 and since that time has photographed some of skating’s biggest names. Constantly scanning his surroundings for moments that combine sport and sculpture, his work speaks to a dedication in combining both his passions in an honest and artistic way.

Paris based artist, Arnaud Pfeffer has a background as an industrial designer, but his passion is his art. Pfeffer weaves links between human and automated gestures. In his work he combines the delicateness of hand drawings with machine precision and the endless possibilities of different brushes, inks and tools. Through his experimentations Pfeffer explores the link between the unexpected of the matter and the precision of code to expose the materiality of mechanical drawing.

Trend forecaster Sara Ingemann and art director Mandy Rep joined forces in 2012 and started the Copenhagen based Quote the Future, a multidisciplinary creative design studio focusing on future trends. Recently renamed to Atelier, Copenhagen the studio explores the world of images, dives into creative minds and detect trends based on detailed research. Deeply connected with the colours, materials and motifs of her Mediterranean heritage, Marseille-based artist Avrandinis produces work that lies between abstraction and figuration.
Minimal compositions take human figures, architecture and still life objects to transform them into interpretive compositions. Working predominantly with pigments and glue on linen or cotton canvas, she creates work that is earthy and natural, speaking of the environment between the sea and the mountains where she was raised.

Bec Kilpatrick is a freelance photographer and illustrator from the sugarcane fields of Byron Bay, Australia.

Located between the cooler mountains and suffocating desert heat of Monterrey in the north of Mexico, the studio of Berenice Hernandez takes inspiration from her surroundings to produce artwork with vibrancy and colour. With a background in art direction and graphic design, she combines her knowledge with subjects taken from her Mexican heritage. Botany contributes the focus of her work, brought to life through a mix of illustration, engraving, painting and textile techniques. The result is abstracted, bold plants and flowers, presented with a graphic touch.

Berglind Rögnvaldsdóttir is a contemporary artist who works mainly within photography. Berglind was born in 1985 and raised in Reykjavik, Iceland. She currently resides in Oslo, Norway. 

Berglind’s work is characterised by a feminine, sometimes dreamlike feel, usually informed by the female gaze approach. Her works are intended to challenge the internal patriarchy and the way people encounter visual representation of women. Berglind has previously tackled issues such as the female nipple, the #metoo campaign, medias obsession with sexualizing the female body and motherhood.

Being a native Icelander she has a strong attachment and deeply rooted respect for nature, working directly with mother earth as a way to confront gender and sexuality politics, it serves as a metaphor to the idea of what is natural.

Berit Mogensen Lopez is a Danish textile and pattern designer who works in the space between art and design. Her work is mainly based on her colourful and unique collages, as seen in her collections of hand-tufted carpets, prints and posters.

Founded in Copenhagen in 2020, producing unique-state pieces: furniture, interiors and objects for life. Fused in the collaboration of Anne Werner and Kasper Lynge – with past lives in fashion, surface design, printmaking and contemporary art – Better Weather’s interdisciplinary practice navigates an abiding investigation of form and an urban social/cultural context that demands more from design than anonymity, passivity, and the nervous echoes of the modern. The studio is grounded in sustainability – reincarnating and barely taming our planetary debris – each piece is started with a desire to work with materials sourced from factory bi-products or industrial and urban waste.

The studio works purely with commercial scalable materials, sourced from post-production materials.

Living and working in Buenos Aires, Argentinian artist Camila O’Gorman specializes in oil and water colour techniques, with a focus on representations of the human figure and portraits based on geometric constructions. Having graduated from the Prilidiano Pueyrredón National School of Fine Arts in 1994, O’Gorman completed her studies under the tutelage of renowned artist Guillermo Roux.

Having spent several years in London and New York, she is now based in her hometown of Stockholm, whilst retaining an international outlook towards her studio and clients. Clara von Zweigbergk, born in Stockholm, graduated from Beckmans School of Design, Stockholm, and continued studies at Art Centre College of Design, Pasadena USA. After five years as a founder and partner in Rivieran – a Stockholm based multi-disciplinary design studio, followed by four years as a senior graphic designer at Lissoni Associati in Milan, she opened her studio in Stockholm, pursuing a great interest in paper, colour, typography and form. Her projects range from visual identities, photo art direction and a growing series of products for brands including HAY, Nike, Louis Poulsen, TID Watches, Moustache and more.

Denis Boudart is a French eclectic artist and graphic designer, based in Paris. Denis Boudart designs reflect the balance of different inspirations between nature, travels and music. He imagines compositions of objects, shapes and colours creating unexpected associations that can appeal to everyone’s imagination. Die Doing is an art and design studio based out of Stuttgart, Germany. Having studied architecture and design, the studio runs alongside the artists more commercial graphic design projects, providing a platform to explore a grainy world of tones and textures. Gradient forms break up on closer inspection, coming to life in larger formats and through the artists use of vibrant colours. The resulting artworks are a mixture of the rational and the emotive.

Stockholm based artist Elin Waak works with acrylic and oil paint on canvas, with a body of work characterised by abstracted landscapes, patterns and unexpected colour combinations – often taking inspiration from coastal landscapes and water. She lives and works surrounded by her source of inspiration; on a ship, built in 1947.

Form Us With Love is an internationally acclaimed design studio from Stockholm working with brands like ateljé Lyktan, FontanaArte, Cappellini, DePadova, Muuto, Design House Sthlm and One Nordic Furniture Company. FUWL was started in 2005 by the trio of Jonas Pettersson, John Löfgren and Petrus Palmér, the studio aims to challenge the conventional through design initiatives.

If there is one word that sums up Swedish design studio FORM US WITH LOVE it is ‘dedication’. Never keen on hanging around for things to happen, it has always used its own initiative to get to where it wants to be. FUWL have always had a very broad scope as designers, they aren’t simply designing products but everything surrounding it too.

FUWL was started in 2005 by John Löfgren, Jonas Pettersson, and Petrus Palmér. They met studying Product Design at Kalmar University, in deepest, darkest Småland, a county in southern Sweden known to be the heartland of Swedish furniture manufacturing..

George Kroustallis is a Berlin-based image director and photographer whose work traverses form, interesting light and femininity via concepts of architecture, fashion, still-life and body.
Working across various projects, George’s defining attention to detail is a result of his unique eye for light and composition with a big emphasis on minimalism and neutral color palettes.

Guilherme da Rosa was born in Lisbon where he studied Architecture. At the age of 25 he moves to Vienna to pursue a career in architecture which he now splits with photography. Guilherme da Rosa is a registered member of the Chamber of Architects in Portugal since 2010 and has published photography in various magazines throughout Europe.

Guillaume Delvigne is a French designer graduated in 2002 from l’Ecole de Design Nantes Atlantique. He started his career alongside renowned designers such as George Sowden or Marc Newson, between Milan and Paris. In 2011 he launched his own studio, inaugurating his first personal exhibition at the Tools Galerie and receiving the Grand Prize of the creation of the city of Paris. Collaborating with manufacturers, editors and craftsmen, he leads projects mainly in the fields of furniture, lighting and object. His clients are great French and foreign companies such as Hermès, Pierre Frey, Ligne Roset, Habitat, Frandsen, Karakter or Lexon, and also young editors such as La Chance or Hartô.

Harry Richards is a freelance graphic designer based in Bristol, United Kingdom. His day-to-day work focuses on visual identity, typography and print design for various design studios, start-ups and businesses. Outside of work as an ongoing personal project, he creates graphic posters inspired by the minimal Swiss style of the mid-century, featuring bold and impactful typography and colour.

Helena Ravenne Langer is a German illustrator and graphic designer. She studied Design and Illustration at the Institue of Technology in Nuremberg. Her work is colourful, minimalistic, graphic and geometric with an affinity for a playful feel and a touch of Scandinavian simplicity.

Henrik Bülow is a Danish Photographic institution in and of himself. His work is to be found in all the vanguard danish fashion bibles, and in nearly all of their issues. He’s a prolific framer – his shots rolling off the printing presses are usually the first snap of every set-up – his index finger knows what he wants, and Bülow’s command of a set is as effective as it is captive.

The work of Parisian artist Hubert Mardi is constructed in stages: first vigorous, random life drawing, to which he adds dreamlike "markers" borrowed from academic practices - nude, vase handling, hands and still life. Instilling personality into his creative process, his work channels his own experiences – learned, seen and lived, through the medium of paint and engraving. With a training in fine art, his work is inspired by the history of art, in particular the work of Braque and his use of “certainties” that allowed his practice to sit between abstraction and realism.

Imo Sinclair is a Manchester-based artist and illustrator. Having graduated from the University of Brighton, she has worked on both commercial projects and her own personal endeavors, all with an overriding sense of joy and companionship. Her work is instantly recognizable through her use of dynamic shapes, textural appearances and bold colours. Inspired by artists such as Picasso and Matisse, her work is stylized and always fun, focusing on everyday motifs and moments.

Spanish artist-designer Jaime Hayon was born in Madrid in 1974 and since founding Hayon Studio in 2001 he has become a creative force at the forefront of a new wave of artists and designers that have blurred the lines between art, decoration and design. His art and design have been exhibited at museums and galleries all over the world while his commercial product and furniture designs reside with leading global brands such as Fritz Hansen, Swarovski, Cassina, &Tradition, Magis and Baccarat.

We asked Jaime to contribute to the world of MADO with some of these personalities, all special creatures evoking the imagination. They are all made with ink and it’s a mix of fantastic dreamy animals and ancient vases come in alive through a blink of an eye, a tongue or a beak. All The Way To Paris gave them colours all inspired by the colourful world of Jaime Hayon.

Jana Jonhardsdóttir is a contemporary artist based in the Faroe Islands, focusing primarily on a monochromatic colour palette as well as her current environment, surrounded by the North Atlantic Ocean - a transient source of inspiration for her abstract work. With a wide range of mediums such as wood, prints, paints, and carving, Jana makes expressionistic art consisting of repetitive patterns and minimalistic referencing. Much of the work resembles the mechanics of clocks - compulsive energy, repetitive and a reliable pattern, similar to the character of the ocean.

London-based printmaker Jazmine Joye creates limited edition, hand pressed linocut prints from her home studio. Her work is inspired by the female form, human hands, and nature.

Jazmine studied graphic design at University but is mainly self-taught in linocut printing. Her work usually begins as an idea which is then designed on illustrator, before being traced and carved out of lino, and eventually hand pressed using a Baren. Jazmine is influenced by the shapes and colours of Matisse and takes inspiration from the form of Rodin’s sculptures. Through her work, she wants to make people feel confident and proud in their own skin, and she aims to represent all body types through her various abstracted nude prints.

Hailing from a small island off the southern Swedish city of Gotenburg, artist and designer Jenny Wallhult has been based in Stockholm for the past thirteen years. Working within graphic design having earlier studied fine arts, her growing artistic practice provides a platform for her to explore form, colour and technique within her unique expressive style. Whilst creating simple and minimal compositions, the use of watercolours creates unexpected forms and textures - embraced by Wallhult as the element within her work that provides depth and character.

Joakim Heltne is a 28 years old Norwegian photographer and self-taught illustrator, currently living in Copenhagen. Joakim Heltne studied Fashion Photography at the University of the Arts in London and before that, he studied Art Photography in Oslo, at Oslo Photographic Arts School (Oslo Fotokunstskole).

Jonas Wagell is a Swedish architect and designer. Wagell’s architecture work is perhaps most known for the prefab house concept Mini House (2007-2012), early recognized by Wallpaper* Magazine which named him one of the “world’s 50 hottest young architects” shortly after graduation in 2008. Today the work is primarily focused on product and furniture design, but occasionally the studio also consults with art and design direction. Jonas Wagell was introduced to design through an interest in graphics, print and typography and perhaps this has influenced today’s work with simplistic and clear, but expressive design language.

Jonna Valtner is a Stockholm based artist and illustrator predominately working with her favorite medium of oil paint on canvas. With an education in product design at Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm, Valtner has worked in the fashion industry for many years before shifting her focus to her art practice. She was raised in a family where art was the focus - with several family members and friends working within the creative arts, which has left a deep impression on her artistic pursuits since those early years.

Josefin Holmgren works with several different mediums and techniques to create art, from gouache and acrylic paintings to physical wall sculptures and digital art. Josefin is from the north of Sweden but has lived in Gothenburg in Sweden half her life, studying and working with design and art. She resides on a small car-free island in the archipelago outside of Gothenburg, and the closeness to the nature and the ocean has always been important to her. Josefin is inspired by everything that is human, things that stir up feelings, textures and simple shapes and pieces that attracts your attention without effort.

Josefin Tolstoy is a Swedish artist based in Uppsala, Sweden. Her work is both abstract and 

figurative. Inspired by the soothing colours of nature and contemporary interiors she creates luscious textures, shapes and blocks of colour. Having completed a Diploma in Art and Design and Graphic Design in the UK, her artworks are often strong in composition and shapes. She works in a combination of acrylic paint and mixed media, in some of the paintings there is an extra sense of texture that she achives with her own recipie of mortar and acrylic mix. These painting are made by laying the canvas on the floor as the colour is heavy.

Julie Pike is a Norwegian photographer who is most known for her work in fashion photography. Julie’s work has a subtle poetic touch and strong narratives. From her base in Oslo Norway she works with major names in the Scandinavian and International fashion and lifestyle industries.

Juliette van Rhyn is a freelance illustrator and graphic designer based in Hackney, London. A decade spent designing textiles for fashion and interiors still influences Juliette’s work today; driven by a love of colour, she strives for texture, tactility and atmosphere in her designs. Inspired by everything from Korean Chaekgeori paintings to Ettorre Sottsass, Juliette’s work reinterprets everyday objects with a keen, playful eye for composition and colour.

Designer and artist Julita Elbe lives and works in Münster in North-West Germany. Having studied design in Münster, and then working as a freelance designer for many years, her focus shifted to an artistic practice based around the combination of digital and hands-on techniques. Inspired by the organic forms, lines and patterns found within nature and architecture, her work is grounded in unobtrusive colours and structures that create warm and soothing compositions. Texture and colour are added to her work through experiments with tissue and handmade cotton paper, mixed with digital components to create bold yet soft compositions.

Stockholm based artist and fashion designer Liat Greenberg channels her love of colours and spontaneous forms through her work across still life and figurative paintings and drawings. Her practice is based on an almost meditative approach, utilizing her favorite medium – watercolor’s, as a way to capture her spontaneity and creativity. Full of movement, life and vibrant colours, her work approaches her subjects with a mix of abstract chaos and more deliberate representations.

Lolita Pelegrime is a Lithuanian artist, living and working in Copenhagen since 2012. Growing up with a multitude of women in her family, she developed a deep appreciation for their stories and experiences, which are often reflected in her artwork.  Lolita obtained a bachelor’s degree in ceramics at the Art Academy of Vilnius, complementing her earlier education at the Kaunas School of Applied Arts and the Kaunas Antanas Martinaitis School of Art. Her paintings have been exhibited in Denmark, Lithuania, and Germany, among others.

Behind LouLou Avenue is Liv Ann van der Laan, a Dutch visual artist inspired by human expression, music, streetstyle & vintage portrait photography. MINORSTEP

Textile design has always been at the heart of Dutch designer Mae Engelgeer’s work, from her high school days to her studies at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute and Sandberg Instituut. Since opening her own studio in 2013, she has nurtured her curiosity for the craft, experimenting within the existing boundaries of textile production to elevate old techniques to a modern stage. Mae Engelgeer’s work embraces subtle colour palettes, patterns and linear elements. Complex compositions merge with perfection to establish harmony. Creative explorations into the contrasting of materials and textures result in works that luxurious in their tactility and dimensionality.

Magdalena Pankiewicz is a Warsaw based artist and illustrator. During her studies in painting, she became fascinated with illustration. In her commercial work she focuses on portrait and figurative drawing, with an additional feminine and fashion twist - but loves to experiment with other motifs including landscape and still life. Magdalena’s style combines strong, raw and unperfected lines, with smooth watercolours and a unique eye for colours. Added together, her work is surprisingly fresh with an original oeuvre.

Born in Helsinki in 1978, Mikael Siirilä approaches photography as a slow-paced and reflective practice. He collects observations from his life and works in the darkroom to give them meaning. His visual style can be recognised by the pronounced film grain, dominating black elements and image edges as a source of mystery and meaning. The majority of his works observe themes such as outsider hood, absence and presence.

Misfitting Things is a Danish female owned art studio working
with playful and vibrant art prints, objects of desire and ceramics that are made to equally disrupt and brighten up any space. Inspired by youth subcultures, nostalgia, childhood fantasies and everything pastel, their work seeks to reflects the landscape around them – real and imagined. 

Misfitting Things is not a design brand but a playground for thoughts, aiming to create art that ignites feelings and the joy of making the world just a tiny bit more colourful.

The urge to create has always dwelled inside Danish artist Natasja Lykke. It has been a long process of trial and error, research, and experimenting, before stepping onto the artistic career path. She has explored her aesthetics and worked towards establishing her own creative language. Spaces inspire Lykke’s artwork, especially in and around the neighborhood of Østerbro, where she currently lives. While developing her technique, Lykke set herself a set of dogmas to follow which help her conceptualize her work. Lykke’s artistic practice becomes an exercise in steadily adding new dimensions to her own limits.

Nina Bruun is based in Copenhagen and holds a Master's degree in Furniture and Spatial Design from the Royal Danish Academy of Design. As a designer gone industry professional, Nina has carved out a niche on the Nordic design scene as a leading source on interior trends, color knowledge and design forecasting as evidenced in several features including Wallpaper, Design Milk, Herald Tribune and Le Figaro.

Prior to forming her independent consultancy, Nina worked with the revered Danish design company, Muuto. Here, she was responsible for colors, trends, textiles and design management, effectively involving Nina in every aspect of the interior design business from product briefs to photo shoots and digital media campaigns.

Also an accomplished designer, Nina has received a Red Dot Design Award and has work accepted in the permanent collection at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York.

Norm Architects is a multidisciplinary design studio focusing on residential architecture, commercial interiors and industrial design. Norm Architects were recently named Danish designers of the year, and have impressed worldwide with their soft minimalism furniture, lighting and accessories designed for companies such as Menu, Design Within Reach and many more. The studio was founded in 2008 by architects Kasper Rønn and Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen by their vocation to create timeless architecture and meaningful design products.

Jelena Donko is a freelance artist living and working in the historic center of Graz, Austria. With a background in architecture and design, Jelena works across a number of media and techniques including painting, drawing and sculpture. Inspired by physical and mathematical concepts, her work is characterised by a combination of theoretical and visual research that reflects a practice between drawing from observation and conceptual imagination. The abstract and minimal aesthetic of her pieces develops through an explorative process of blending and simplifying conceptual elements. Jelena views art as a research tool in order to explore worlds that otherwise remain unseen within the limits of our sensory perception.

Philippe Lareau is an artist living and working in Québec City, Canada. He graduated in visual arts at the University of Sherbrooke, and in Television Production at the Cégep de Jonquière. Philippe's work is closely linked to everyday objects, those that we use without paying attention to them but that accompany us on a daily basis. His work experiments with shape, color and texture through simple compositions and everyday motifs.

Robin Ahlgren is a Swedish artist and interior architect. His interest for art awoke from a young age as his grandfather was a well known artist and inspiration for Robin. His work reflects simplicity, sophistication and a minimalistic flow of soft lines.

The narratives of South African artist Ronelle Pienaar Jenkin center around psychology – human thoughts, behaviors, ways of being in the world and the congruence between these things. Her work across the mediums of ink, watercolour and oils deal with themes such as humour, pride, sanctimony, obscenity and irreverence.

Sacrée Frangine is a creative duo based between Paris and South France.  The word “Sacrée” literally translates to “sacred” but paired with a substantive, it becomes equivalent to the expression “a hell of a”, while “Frangine” is an informal way to say “sister”. So in other words, Ceillia and Aline are the closest of friends.  The duo explores shapes and colour palettes to create simplified narratives and compositions and Their work expresses the beauty of everyday things through a minimalist and pleasing aesthetic.

Tenna Elisabeth Studio is the Copenhagen based workshop of graphic designer and artist Tenna Elisabeth Jacobsen. Her design process springs from a love for handcrafted printing techniques and a curiosity towards digital possibilities, manifesting itself through creative improvisations and experiments with new techniques, approaches, materials and media.

Tenna’s artwork is characterized by a tactile graphic universe inspired by the intensity of a color and the meeting between different materials and textures.

Chris Calmer is a Danish photographer and visual artist working in the intersection between art, fashion, and commercial photography – connecting the dots in a sometimes hyperrealistic, other times dreamy and otherworldly manner. In 2017 he moved to Paris to assist and work as a freelance retoucher on jobs for Galleries Lafayette, Liberty London, Dior, and V magazine. His studio is now based in Copenhagen.

Yanyi Ha

Ästhet is the Hannover based studio of artist and designer Anne Schäfer. Inspired by natural forms and contemporary art, Ästhet creates contemporary compositions that are both minimal and expressive. Creating artwork on paper, the studio also experiments with clay, textiles, photography and etching with motifs that merge Scäfer’s training in communication design with a hands-on approach to process and form.
